Job Summary

The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN invites candidates for a newly created faculty position in our Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy Program that includes new academic curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and community partnerships. Program growth has provided the opportunity for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a June 2018 (or earlier) targeted start date.

Key Results/Responsibilities

For this teaching position, primary responsibilities include teaching within the occupational therapy curriculum, student advising, pursuit of independent scholarship, and participation in department, college, and community service activities.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a post-professional doctoral degree or minimally have a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy with a plan for completing a doctoral degree within the initial years of employment. Continued employment would be contingent upon progress toward the terminal, post-professional doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, Ed.D, or OTD). The candidate must be NBCOT certified, and eligible for OT licensure in Minnesota. A minimum of five years of clinical experience is required. Teaching or clinical practice experience in the areas of adult rehabilitation, work and industry, administration, and community/home health is preferred. Evidence of cultural competence and success in settings with diverse populations is essential.

The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to present a positive and professional attitude when dealing with students, clinical staff and clients, the local community, and the national professional community. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent work traits including interpersonal, written and oral communication, organizational, and time management skills.
